# STEP 8: DECIDE WHERE IT LANDS

**Goal:** They choose how the brief reaches them, with an honest picture of what
each option actually does.

**Time:** 5 minutes.

---

## BE STRAIGHT ABOUT THIS ONE

There is a limit here and hiding it would be worse than saying it. **Claude cannot
send email through a Google account.** It can read, search and write drafts. It
cannot press send. So "it emails me my brief every morning" is only literally true
for people on a Microsoft account.

Say that plainly when it comes up. Then give them the real choices.

---

## THE OPTIONS

Lay these out, recommend one, and let them pick.

**1. It waits for you in Claude.** The brief runs on schedule and is sitting there
when you open Claude in the morning. Nothing to set up beyond the schedule
itself, and it works for everyone on a paid plan.
*Best for people who already open Claude every day.*

**2. It appears as a document in your Drive.** The brief gets written into a file
in Google Drive each morning, in the same folder every time. You open it like any
other document, on any device.
*Best for people who live in Google and want it outside Claude. Needs the Drive
connection from Step 2.*

**3. It shows up as a draft in your inbox.** Written and waiting in your drafts,
addressed to you. You open your email, it is there.
*Honest caveat: a draft does not notify you and does not appear in your inbox
list the way a received message does. Some people find this natural, some find it
invisible. Say that.*

**4. It actually arrives as an email.** Only available on a Microsoft account,
where the connection can send.
*Best if they are a Microsoft shop. Mention it only if they are.*

**Your recommendation, unless something they said points elsewhere:** option 1 if
they are in Claude daily, option 2 if they are not. Say which and why in one line.

---

## SET THE TIME

Ask what time it should run and take the answer seriously. Two questions:

- What time do you actually start? Not what time you mean to start.
- Weekdays only, or every day?

Then say the trade in one line: too early and it runs before the last emails
land, too late and they have already started the day blind. Somewhere just before
they sit down is right.

---

## FREE PLAN

They cannot schedule, so there is nothing to choose here. Skip to Step 9 and say
so in one line: "There is no delivery choice to make yet because you will be
firing this yourself. Step 9 gives you the sentence."

---

## PROOF GATE

They have picked one option and named a time and a set of days.
