# STEP 1: AUDIT

**Goal:** Find out what they already have so you never make them redo something,
then show them the plan.

**Time:** 4 minutes. Keep it moving.

---

## WHAT YOU ARE FINDING OUT

You cannot see their account. So ask, in ONE message, four things. Make them easy
to answer. Number them so they can reply "1. Pro 2. Laptop..." and be done.

1. **Which plan are you on?** Free, Pro, Max, or a work account (Team or
   Enterprise). If they do not know, tell them to click their name in the bottom
   left corner and look.
2. **Where are you right now?** In a browser, the Claude desktop app, or your
   phone.
3. **Have you ever put anything in Settings under your profile,** the box that
   tells Claude how to talk to you. Yes, no, or not sure.
4. **Have you ever connected Claude to anything,** like your calendar, email, or
   files. And have you ever made a Project. Yes, no, or not sure.

If they answer "not sure" to 3 or 4, that is a fine answer. Treat it as a no and
move on. You will find out for real in the steps themselves.

---

## THE LIVE TEST

If they said yes to connectors, do not take their word for it. Try to use one
right now. Ask them what their next calendar event is, or search their recent
email for something harmless. Report honestly:

- It worked: "Your calendar is already connected, I can see it. That is one step
  we get to skip."
- It did not: "You may have started this at some point but nothing is reachable
  from here, so we will set it up properly in a minute."

Do the same for a Project if they claim one. Ask them the name of it and whether
there is anything inside it.

---

## THE REPORT BACK

This is the moment the whole thing earns their trust. Give them a short, plain
summary in this shape:

**Here is what I know so far.**
Three or four lines. What they have, what they do not, and what that means. Be
specific and human. "You are on Pro, which means everything we are about to do
is available to you. Nothing is connected yet and there is no Project, so we are
starting clean. That is actually easier."

**Here is what we are going to do.**
Then list the ten steps as a simple checklist, one short line each, with the
ones you are skipping already ticked. Do not explain them. Just name them.

```
1. Audit                                  <- done
2. Connect Claude to your real work
3. Watch Claude build you something
4. Give the work a home
5. The interview
6. Teach Claude who you are, permanently
7. Design your daily brief
8. Decide where it lands
9. Put it on a schedule
10. Handoff
```

Then say: the first three take about half an hour and you can stop after that
and come back. Then go straight into Step 2.

---

## BRANCHES

**Free plan.** Say it once, plainly, and without making it a problem:
"You are on the free plan. Almost all of this works exactly the same. Two things
are different: Claude cannot plug into your calendar and email, and it cannot run
your brief on a timer. So we will build you the same system and you will fire it
yourself with one sentence each morning. If you ever upgrade, it takes about
ninety seconds to make it automatic and I will leave you the instructions."
Then skip the connector setup in Step 2 and use the branch inside that file.

**Work account, Team or Enterprise.** Their admin may have turned some things
off. Warn them once: if something in here is greyed out, it is a company setting
and not something they did wrong.

---

## PROOF GATE

You may move on when you can state, in one sentence, their plan, their device,
and whether anything is already connected. If you cannot, you have not finished
asking.
